and is a Professor of Surgery
at Columbia University
but uses his national platform
(to which he catapulted
with Oprah Winfrey's help
first appearing
on her show in 2004
then getting Harpo Productions'
backing for "The Dr. Oz Show"
in 2009)
to promote weight loss
wonder drugs.
